Mayor-President takes down first blighted buiding on his target list
Mayor-President Sid Edwards is making progress on his list of 10 commercial properties targeted for demolition.
Crews have begun demolishing the former OYO Hotel at 10920 Mead Road. The property has been abandoned for two years, attracting criminal activity and people experiencing homelessness.
What he's saying: “We are going to get the public’s attention—one way or another—that neglect, blight and illegal dumping will cost more through fines, penalties and liens than it would cost to take care of the property in the first place,” Edwards said.
