- Description: Baton Rouge is betting that big concerts can fill a stadium, boost its profile and bring more visitors to town.
- Author: Mukul Verma

Another major concert appears to be headed to Tiger Stadium, along with a companion event at Alex Box Stadium.

**Why it matters:** Visit Baton Rouge and its partners have used a concert to attract visitors to the parish while giving people across the region more opportunities to see live music.

**The details:** Two events are in the works for spring 2027: one at Alex Box Stadium on March 4 and another at Tiger Stadium on March 6.

- The events appear in a resolution on Wednesday’s Metro Council agenda requesting rebates of local sales and use taxes collected on tickets, concessions and parking.
- State law allows tax incentives for large events.
- The agenda item does not identify the performers, suggesting local officials are still working on a deal with promoters.

**The backstory:** Visit Baton Rouge, LSU Athletics, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership teamed up to launch “Death Valley Live.”

- Zach Bryan sold out Tiger Stadium in March.
- Post Malone later canceled his May concert and tour, saying he was focusing on his music, though industry experts said the tour was not selling enough tickets.

**The bottom line:** Baton Rouge’s push to attract stadium-sized concerts appears to be continuing. Very few artists can sell enough tickets to fill venues that large.
