Senator John Kennedy is often mocked for a Southern drawl so put-on that he has been compared to Foghorn Leghorn. One [mainstream news outlet](https://www.nola.com/opinions/who-said-it-sen-john-kennedy-or-foghorn-leghorn/article%5Fd11f40ca-40da-5ffd-82f8-555ceca15685.html?ref=redeyebr.com) even devised an online quiz, asking readers to distinguish the senator’s comments from those of the Looney Tunes character.

Still, if you are keeping score in a spreadsheet, award our senator a point for pressing Kash Patel, the FBI director, on a change to the bureau’s hiring rules that would allow people convicted of bestiality to apply for jobs.
