Louisiana residents love Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but they have an unusually strong appetite for Tootsie Pops, and bulk sales point to Lemonheads.

**By the numbers:** Reese’s ranked first in Louisiana and 39 other states based on ounces sold through Instacart in 2025.

- But Tootsie Pops were Louisiana’s most distinctively popular candy. Louisiana shoppers bought them at a rate 141% above their share of Instacart candy sales nationally.
- Maybe people in Louisiana are simply determined to find out how many licks it takes to reach the center of that Tootsie Pop?

**Meanwhile:** CandyStore.com names Lemonheads Louisiana’s top Halloween candy in its latest rankings. Its projection is based on Halloween-season bulk sales collected from 2008 through 2025\. Louisiana is the only state where Lemonheads finished first.

**Yes, but:** DoorDash’s data produced a more confounding result: Sweet Smiles was Louisiana’s most-ordered candy brand in October 2024.

- Sweet Smiles is Dollar General’s private-label candy line.
- The brand also led in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee.

**The intrigue:** That Southern sweep could reflect Dollar General’s reach and shoppers’ search for value as candy prices rise. 

**The bottom line:** Reese’s appears to win on overall volume, Tootsie Pops reveal Louisiana’s unusual sweet spot, Lemonheads dominate one bulk-sales dataset and Sweet Smiles rules delivery orders.
