**Why it matters:** Friday is the week's anchor—the 10th anniversary of the August 2016 flood gets a retrospective at the Observatory, Ghostbusters gets the roast treatment at Manship and the West Baton Rouge Museum hosts an evening of spoken word, art and live music just across the bridge. - The closing reception for *Free as They Want to Be: Artists Committed to Memory*—the exhibition running simultaneously at Southern University and Baton Rouge Gallery through August 23\. Free and open to the public.
